Grant for TSOs in the UK that aim to support community and environmental projects.

The Veolia Environmental Trust Grant is provided and administered by the Veolia Environmental Trust and is for third sector organisations active throughout the UK. The scheme is intended to support community or environmental projects across the UK.

• Restoring footpaths and garden spaces.

The Programme itself is job focused – the only people on this should be people ultimately looking for a job.  It is not funding for training, as such, but funding for support towards employment and reducing the barriers – this could be self confidence training but it could be more direct job searching support.  If there are any additional needs to be supported in that path to employment, then this programme will support, through mentoring, that beneficiary to achieve that goal.  Organisations can be access this programme as referral agencies, specialist support agencies or in doing 'the full service'.  This service is delivered in Norfolk by Community Connections, Move on East, Meridian East and Norfolk Guidance Services.

Financial assistance is available to support projects run by charities and not-for-profit organisations for the benefit of young and disadvantaged people.  There are no minimum or maximum levels of grant. The Foundation prefers not to fund 100% of project costs and encourages organisations to find other sources of funding, preferably in cash, towards the cost of their activity.

Projects involving developing a charitable organisation or an innovative programme which meets the Foundation's aims may be supported for up to six years. In these circumstances, grants are made for up to three years, and the project is then reviewed before any further funding is allocated.

The NEET Brokerage Project delievered by City College Norwich will support young people in Norwich with mental health difficulties, between the ages of 16 and 18, who are Not in Education, Employment or Training. Through working with partners, early intervention and listening to the needs of the young people, City College aim to get them back on track through one-to-one programmes of tailored activities.

Radical Routes makes loans available to co-operatives working for social change, in order to enable projects to get off the ground which might otherwise not be able to proceed.

Radical Routes is mutual society and will only make loans to member co-operatives. Investment is in the form of shares, and Shares are normally withdrawable subject to a period of notice, and there are currently no restrictions on how often withdrawable shares can be issued, so people can invest when they please.

The UK Grants Programme 2009 - 2012 is provided and administered by Comic Relief and aims to tackle poverty and social injustice by helping people make lasting, positive changes in their lives and their communities.  The Older People strand of the programme aims to support older people to bring positive change to their communities and is keen to support those developing ideas for action.

In particular, the scheme is keen to fund projects that:
