Urgent response for Skills for Life ESF delivery (by Tuesday 20th May) and DIUS consultation on adult informal learning

The Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills is undertaking a consultation of informal adult learning.  This is an excellent opprtunity to input into how the approach of Government should be shaped in this field.  Closing date 12th June.

URGENT RESPONSE REQUIRED IF YOU ARE INTERESTED - Skills for Life delivery

Following the successful tender by ACER for workplace Skills for Life Delivery COVER has been identified as a regional specialist partner to ensure that the VCS staff, volunteers and SfL providers are represented in this project. Our proposed role would support our wish to capacity build within VCS Learning consortia where possible, but at the same time ensure that we increased the sector’s delivery of accredited Skills for Life qualifications with any organisation that feels it is well placed to do so.

We are, therefore, looking for established VCS learning centres (including those aspiring to become SfL accredited) across the region, to be provider partners in this project.

We are also seeking to establish the volume of learners likely to be identified within these centres who would be supported to deliver SfL qualifications.

If you are an established VCS learning centre delivering SfL, or aspiring to do so, and you wish to receive ESF funding from this ACER contract to deliver accredited SfL provision to staff, volunteers and/or clients beneficiaries please email me with the following information:

Your name, email address and contact telephone number

The name of your organisation

The county/counties in which you deliver

The number of learners you think you could deliver accredited SfL qualifications in the workplace to, over a 2.5 year period

Tell me whether you currently deliver accredited SFL, or are wishing to do so within the timeframe of this project

PLEASE NOTE: The timescale for identifying provider partners is very short – I literally have days in which to identify potential partners as these all have to be named by ACER within their contract negotiation period which is coming to a close very soon.
