Flexible New Deal - partner organisations sought
A4e are looking for partners to offer a variety of services, not just traditional 'delivery' but mentoring, soft skills etc. VCS organisations wanted
A4e is an organisation that specialises in the delivery of employment and training services to people who are disadvantaged. We supply a range of services on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions to help unemployed people return to work and currently deliver the New Deal programme in Norfolk, Lincolnshire & Rutland. We are now tendering to deliver a new employment programme called Flexible New Deal to help local people obtain and retain employment and are keen to work in partnership with local community and voluntary organisations to provide a range of services. We are advertising a
number of partnership opportunities in Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Norfolk, Lincolshire & Rutland and would welcome applications from you and your membership. The opportunities available include:
1. Community engagement and work-related support for people from ethnic minority communites
2. English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
3. Enterprise & Self-Employment provision
4. Back to Work Support - for all kinds of unemployed individuals but especially people who are ex-offenders, who experience problems with drug/alcohol, who have mild to moderate mental or physical health needs and older people. We are also interested in working with local organisations with experience of providing interpretation and translation services, who can provide advice and support around housing
and homelessness, debt advice and financial support and general healthy living advice.
5. Vocational Skills Training and Short Courses - particularly in relation to the following: health & social care, construction, customer
services, hospitality, leisure and tourism, LBG, PSV, HGV, FLT training, manufacturing, environmental industries
6. Basic Skills Support
7. Mentoring
8. The provision of soft skills training to help unemployed people develop e.g communication presentation and teambuilding skills.
9. Inspirational and motivational courses/sessions/workshops
10. Creative transport solutions to help customers access training provision and employment.
