News update: PTTLS and other news
Some news that may be of interest to you
PTTLS
Due to funding acquired by the Norfolk LSC, we are able to offer a subsidised PTLLS+ (Preparation to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) course, to be delivered by Cambridge University in Norwich, spring 2009. PTLLS (and from there CTLLS and DTLLS) are increasingly being asked as a benchmark standard for teachers delivering ‘lifelong learning’ (whether that is community or college delivery). If there is demand, we will be organising a second cohort. If you know of any staff who could benefit from this, please let us know the numbers you would like to access – we are putting no limits per organisation at this stage, just trying to determine demand, so that we know whether to put on 1 or 2 cohorts. Responses by 23rd January please.
EEDA financial inclusion tender
A new programme is being prepared for financial inclusion, looking at how organisations can offer final advice and support to individuals. CAB and Credit Union are working on a joint bid – please contact Andrew Seager of CAB (Andrew.Seager@citizensadvice.org.uk) if you feel you may have something to offer or if you want to find out more. It may or may not be that your service could be included in their application – we are not aware of any other bids within our current networks that is being prepared.
LSC contracting issues
From a request of the Norfolk Unites steering group, we are trying to gather anecdotal evidence of third sector organisations that have been marginalised by the recent Open Competitive Tendering process of the LSC or Prime Contractor process of Jobcentre Plus. If you were an organisation who used to deliver but have since had this cut back or stopped due to now not been able to access these funds please let us know by the end of January. We will take any responses to the appropriate regional and national tables and lobby on your behalf.
