New funds added
See our Funding page for new funds: (DCSF) to guide schools on gender related underachievement; (NAVCA) working with offenders and their families; (CWDC) evaluating the Integrated Qualification Framework for the children's workforce and its impact upon children and young people; (Nominet) internet projects supporting perceived disadvantaged groups; (Campaign for Learning) Family learning festivals; (LSIS) Flexibility and innovation fund; (UK Border Agency) - 4 strands of projects supporting migrant integration: ESOL and citizenship training, research, policy and training for local government, volunteering to aid integration.

Worklessness conference
This conference in Norwich in October is specifically looking at effective ways that housing services can contribute to tackling worklessness and increase access to employment and skills opportunities for socially excluded and disadvantaged people. It will showcase the work of the trailblazer LEAP programme in Norwich and relate this to other models on a local and national level. Please contact Barry Allard for further information.

Learning report launched
The Learning Through Life report has been recently launched, an independent Inquiry into the Future for Lifelong Learning, including: the first authoritative and coherent strategic framework for lifelong learning in the UK for the next 10-15 years; an overview of the current state of learning in the UK; radical recommendations for long term change. REfLECT and teacher training status events
