What difference does Norfolk Unites make? Some examples…
- An organisation wanting to put together a bid for delivery of an Information, Advice and Guidance contract was directed to the Norfolk Unites Directory where they were able, at the click of a button, to identify a whole range of potential partners currently delivering IAG.
- The Learning Shop signposting their 1000+ clients a month looking for learning opportunities to the Norfolk Unites Directory, to help identify possible providers.
- A Norwich City College application for NEET in Norwich had 6 third sector and 1 private sector partners due to advertising for partners on the Norfolk Unites Funding page. This means the breadth of service available to the end user is that much more diverse and inclusive of the third sector.
- Norfolk Adult Education Services and a Norfolk third sector organisation producing a joint application for ‘Flexibility and Innovation Fund’ to support the Norfolk community.
- A Norfolk school looking for specific groups to use their extended school resources was signposted to the Norfolk Unites Directory where they were able to identify specific groups who they could offer the opportunity to.
By signing up to the Norfolk Unites Directory, all types of organisations can put themselves on the radar of such opportunities!!
Norfolk Unites steering group
One year on and we are looking for candidates to take Norfolk Unites into year 2 and build on our inaugural year. Although we are planning to hold an initial steering group meeting to set out a work plan for the year, there are no meeting commitments. All that we ask of our steering group members is to offer their input to specific issues/questions as they arise, as set by the Norfolk Unites Co-ordinator. We are happy to take applications from all sectors. We are looking for Norfolk Unites steering group members to be advocates of Norfolk Unites and to help us champion the cause. If the work of Norfolk Unites is something you believe in – see above or About Us for more information – then please feel free to put yourself forward using the Contact Us page. All nominations to be received by November 23rd. These nominations will then be voted for by electronic ballot.
A big thank you to Howard Foale!
Norfolk Unites would like to say a big thank you to Hoard Foale who has been the Norfolk LSC VCS champion during the period of development for Norfolk Unites. As part of the LSC transitions, Howard will be taking a new role at Norfolk County Council with 16-19 responsibilities. The VCS will have a champion at regional level through the Skills Funding Agency. Howard has been a tremendous support to Norfolk Unites, allowing us the flexibility to do what we feel is best to increase access for third sector providers as well as achieving additional funding for us to explore the possibilities. We wish him all the best in his new role!
