We are pleased to announce funding to support Norfolk Unites for a further 2 years!
Norfolk Unites funding
We are pleased to announce that we have received funding to continue the Norfolk Unites service until October 2011. This is part of a regional project entitled 'Engage and Enable', delivered by COVER and funded by EEDA/ESF. We would like to thank Nikki Bennett, the VCS Skills Strategy Manager - Eastern Region at COVER, for her support of Norfolk Unites and in ensuring this valuable work can continue across the Eastern region. Please see here for full details of Engage and Enable.
We look forward to working with you in 2010 and 11!
Learning providers, learners and volunteers requested
Space to transform is an informal learning programme especially designed to meet the needs of people in supported housing and accommodation services in Norfolk. The Learning Revolution initiative is running from November 09 to March 2010. This is an opportunity to involve people in planning activities and to get involved in making change happen. Supported by the Transformation Fund, this is a partnership of ten supported housing and education providers working together to see how they can improve services and involve people at all levels in future decision making and planning. We are especially interested in potential learning providers with alternative, practical and creative ideas.
If you are interested in getting involved as a learner, a support worker, a volunteer, an organisation or as a future funder, contact; imogen@space-east.org.
Norfolk Unites Steering Group
We are pleased to announce that Laura Smith of Broadland Council Training Services has been accepted as a new member for the Norfolk Unites steering group. Laura comes from a non third sector organisation and we hope her expertise in the learning and skills agenda will help ensure Norfolk Unites goes from strength to strength. Please watch this space in 2010 for further developments!
Regional skills agenda
Please see here for a short article on how the Government will be using the Regional Development Agencies (EEDA in the East of England) to work closely with the skills agenda to promote economic development - 'Skills for Growth'.
And finally...
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
