New funds added

- BTCV are looking for partners for the Suffolk NHS - Integrated Healthy Lifestyles Service. Scroll down to this fund to find their details and the opportunities available to organisations to partner BTCV on this application
- NAVCA – contracting opportunities for third sector organisations to provide services to or on behalf of NAVCA

Representation channels
We will now be making available minutes and agendas to ‘key’ learning and skills regional and county meetings attended by representatives on your behalf, to allow you to contribute/receive information as appropriate. At present these ‘key meetings’ include Learn East, East of England Third Sector Learning and Skills Advisory Group, Norfolk Learning for Life Partnership and the county Employment and Skills Board. All this information will be made available on the Partnerships page and you will be signposted at the appropriate times.
A recent addition is the minutes of the East of England Third Sector Learning and Skills Advisory Group, 19/1/10. Brief summary: conversation around this new group and what it hopes to achieve; county updates; functional skills qualifications and; skills accounts. See Partnerships page for minutes.

Learner Support Practitioners
See here for an ACER presentation on a soon to be arriving Learner Support Practitioner qualification. This qualification will be ideal for people who provide support to learners led by a more qualified trainer in sessions. There will be funding for this coming soon, so watch this space!
Third Sector National Learning Alliance (TSNLA) case studies
Have you been recognised for good practice in learning provision? Have you been able to influence policy or practice? Have you developed innovative resources or provision or worked effectively with local or regional partners? The TSNLA is working on a toolkit aimed at those who will be commissioning learning provision in Local Authorities, the Skills Funding Agency and the Young People’s Learning Agency. TSNLA support
The TSNLA is supporting third sector organisations in the transition from the LSC. See here for their latest bulletin covering handy updates on the Skills Funding Agency, the Young Peoples Learning Agency, Adult Advancement Careers Service and much more. There is also a dedicated TSNLA phone line to support third sector organisations with any queries regarding the switch over from the LSC to the SFA etc – 01225 792500.
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships scheme available until the end of March to provide an additional £2500 (on top of training costs already met by the National Apprenticeships Scheme) to organisations taking on 16 and 17 year old apprentices. See here for more details.
