East Norfolk Sixth Form College

The College offers a broad based course provision currently including over 40 AS/A2 subjects, BTEC National Diplomas in Sports Science, Business Studies, Media, Public Services and IT; BTEC First Diploma in Sports, Public Services, IT and Media plus a range of GCSE subjects. Over the years the College has built up a record of well above average 'A' level results (consistently over 97% pass rate) and a strong reputation for a friendly atmosphere and caring community. In 2006 the College was in the top 20 of all colleges (over 400 in total) for the seventh consecutive year in the annual Guardian survey and the DfES Performance Tables.

East of England Observatory

The East of England Observatory is a dedicated interactive web site maintained by the Strategy Team of the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) for the benefit of the agency and its partner organisations. Contributions from partners are welcomed. The site seeks to collect, analyse and disseminate key regional information in order to present an accurate and continuously updated picture of the socio-economic and environmental structure of the East of England.

Easton College

Easton College has a long and proud history of providing quality courses for the agricultural and horticultural industries. MentFor CIC

This Forum is all about mentoring in the East of England and beyond. It is designed to help you access useful information and services whether your interest is in mentoring or being mentored. It is for everybody of any age, gender, education, ethnicity, social, physical or employment status. East Mentoring Forum (shortly to become MentFor CIC) is a not-for-profit organisation, that was initially funded by the East of England Development Agency and European Social Fund

Mentoring and Befriending Foundation

The Mentoring and Befriending Foundation (MBF) provides guidance and support to organisations and practitioners involved in mentoring and befriending. As the national strategic body, MBF also works to influence policy and practice in the sector and across government. The MBF has developed a national infrastructure with regional coordinators established in each of the nine government regions with responsibility for engaging with and supporting practitioners in the field. The MBF is committed to promoting voluntary regulation of mentoring and befriending projects through the Approved Provider Standard, the national benchmark for safe and effective practice

National Construction College East - formerly CITB Bircham Newton

Established in 1966 by CITB the college boasts over 450 acres of training area, much of which is put to use for practical operative training. More than 4 acres of covered facilities allow training to be carried out all year round. Lecture rooms are well equipped with modern audio visual aids. All courses are run by experienced, qualified instructors all of whom have worked in the construction industry.

Paston College

Paston College is a specialist sixth form college for young people aged 16-18 in North Norfolk. It was created in 1984, from two grammar schools, one dating from 1606. It has been a place of learning for 400 years.

Priory Centre Great Yarmouth

Shaw Trust

Shaw Trust is a national charity that provides training and work opportunities for people who are disadvantaged in the labour market due to disability, ill health or other social circumstances. They are the largest voluntary sector provider of employment services for disabled people in the UK.

Student Associates scheme

The scheme gives students in higher education the opportunity to work alongside teachers in schools, gain knowledge and experience about teaching, and have the chance to explore teaching as a career while still studying for their degree.

The Garage

The Garage is an exciting creative industries training and performance venue situated in the heart of Norwich. Its state of the art facilities are home to a wide range of workshops, holiday activities, performance groups, festivals, performances, accreditation opportunities and careers related events. A range of other partner organisations also use our venue to deliver courses and classes ranging from drama to dance and with everything from pilates to yoga in between.

The Norfolk Exchange

Work with schools to encourage them to develop their understanding of the needs of industry through classroom and business-based activities and to arrange Professional Development placements for school staff to develop their experience in the community, in industry and in business. They work with Businesses to encourage them to get involved in a wide range of programmes in schools and the classroom so students get a first-hand insight into the varied opportunities in the world of work

UCAS

Provides a central application service for courses at higher education institutions. It also provides help and guidance for each stage of the journey to higher education, from advice about subjects and qualifications through to funding studies and being prepared for any challenges that may arise.

UCS University Campus Suffolk

University Campus Suffolk is the newest higher education institution in the UK, building on the strengths of the Universities of East Anglia and Essex who are the sponsoring institutions. UCS has a modern approach to higher education with university centres in Bury St Edmunds, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Otley complementing a major new campus development in Ipswich.

UEA

The University of East Anglia (UEA) is an internationally renowned university based in a campus that provides top quality academic, social and cultural facilities to over 13,000 students.

UEA Mentoring Scheme

The UEA runs one of the largest student mentoring programmes in the country as is funded by Aimhigher Norfolk. This programme aims to contribute towards raising the aspirations of school students, particularly those from backgrounds with no family history of further education, and provide an insight into university life, to achieve a greater staying on rate into higher education. Each year the Admissions and Outreach Office recruits around 100 UEA students from a range of disciplines, who support in the region of 400 school students from 26 of the county?s secondary schools and colleges.

Voluntary Norfolk

Voluntary Norfolk is the largest voluntary sector infrastructure organisation in Norfolk. They support the work of voluntary and community organisations through a range of free and paid-for services and by providing a voice for the voluntary and community sector within key partnerships in the county. Members of Voluntary Norfolk enjoy additional and discounted services over and above our general advice and information which is available to all. Voluntary Norfolk manages three voluntary sector development forums in Great Yarmouth (GYVSP), North Norfolk (vcsTogether North Norfolk) and in Norwich city. Voluntary Norfolk is the major volunteering organisation in Norfolk. They promote volunteering by managing three volunteer centres (Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Thetford), and a network of community volunteer co-ordinators based in local health premises. They also manage a range of specialist volunteer services, including a community transport scheme and advocacy, mentoring and befriending services.

West Norfolk Partnership

The West Norfolk Partnership is a group of key public, private and voluntary sector organisations who work together to improve services and the quality of life in West Norfolk. As well as local people, members of the partnership include representatives of the Borough and County Councils, the health and education services, housing providers, the police and voluntary sector.

Youth Empowerment Seminars (YES!)

A website packed with resources and information about youth mentoring programs, peer mentoring and teachers as mentors, as well as at least 50 useful links to some of the top youth mentoring websites around the world. There is also a Blog Page describing a two year pilot school-based mentoring program run in three Australian High Schools in 2007/08 and a Blog Page for Parents and Teens written regularly.
