Broadland Council Training Services
What Train to Gain service can you provide?
Broadland Council Training Services is the lead provider for the Eastern Regions Work-Based Train to Gain Consortium. Our partners currently include Great Yarmouth College, Norfolk Training Services, J O Academy, Rising Stars and Norfolk & Waveney Mental Health Trust. We continue to expand our partner base and BCTS is very happy to welcome Great Yarmouth Community Trust as the most recent addition to our Consortium. We are currently in a position to offer training across the majority of East Anglia and beyond.
Types of courses that you can offer (especially that could be relevant to the Norfolk VCS)
The Consortium, as a whole, can offer a broad range of NVQs at Level 2, 3 and 4 via our Partnerships, providing they appear on the LSCs Learning Aims Database (LAD). In addition to this we can also offer individual development of Literacy and Numeracy skills leading to a Nationally recognised qualification. Some NVQ courses which have particularly appealed to the Voluntary Sector are: Customer Service, Administration, Equine, Retail Operations and a new addition in development this year is Advice and Guidance.
Success story
An individual who has been volunteering in the equine world for several years, helping disabled people access the benefits of “Horse Therapy”, has now been able to get their selfless contribution and skills rewarded and qualified. Via Train to Gain, the cash strapped host organisation has now been able to respond to the individuals’ commitment by recognising and commending the volunteers’ performance and support over the years.
