Success stories

Although Norfolk Unites is only just into the consortium pilot stage, we have already achieved a lot:

  • 67% of 24 IAG bursaries available for Third Sector organisations across the 6 eastern region were counties claimed by Norfolk organisations, supported by an active Norfolk Unites awareness campaign
  • IAG delivery now available through Train to Gain locally due to Norfolk Unites putting a provider in touch with a local Train to Gain consortium – funded IAG courses now available to the Norfolk Third Sector organisations through Train to Gain as a result
  • High levels of website visits on days of alerts of contract opportunities – people wanting to find out more about the opportunities available, as made aware by Norfolk Unites e-mail alerts
  • Norfolk Third Sector providers being put in touch with organisations across the eastern region applying to hold various learning and skills programmes.  This ensures individual providers can be written into the bids rather than hope that they can pick up some pieces when the programme is being delivered
  • Quality toolkit (including provider contracts etc.) and training bought in from an established learning consortium, Learning+, enabling Norfolk Unites to be in a strong position when it comes to putting itself forward to manage LSC contracts
  • Research on appropriate management information systems etc. to support applications made by any Norfolk Unites, or Learn East, members
  • Clear lines of communication and representation available to smaller learning and skills providers from local networks up to national policy formulation
  • Organised a well received PTLLS course, funded by the LSC/COVER and delivered by Cambridge University, for 20 individuals from the Norfolk Third Sector
  • Associate members from across all sectors, recognising the benefits of working with Norfolk Third Sector providers
  • Potential for many more good news stories in the months and years ahead – all we need is your engagement!
